His FG and 3P are lacking, but he's right in line with the rest of the numbers. A few are even better. His FT is best out of the group. That tells me he has the fundamentals to be a great shooter and maybe he just forced too many bad shots this year. He's a freshman. I'd bet his numbers improve significantly if he stayed throughout his 4 years. Put him on a team full of shooters and watch his role and his game change.

shite, even a guy like Westbrook shot 40% his first few years in the league. The guy really still can't "shoot".

So does Smart have the athleticism and quickness to go with his size? Xavier Henry is a pretty big guy as well but he can't do anything with his size because he can't shoot and isn't quick. Not saying Smart will be nearly as bad as Henry and I've never seen him play, but I'm just curious.

Pretty much this. Although, I don't think he will be a great shooter.

I am not worried about the FG% of a just turned 19-year-old guard.

He has good form at the line. That tells you all you need to know. And scouts look at free throw percentage to see if a player can improve on his shooting percentages.

Plus he actually gets to the fricking free throw line. Something no one on the Hornets/Pelicans do.
