Looking for place to hunt near Shreveport...

Hey everyone, first time poster! it's been a while since I've been on here but wanted to ask if anyone knew of a place near Shreveport that is looking for new members? Im just about to graduate from medical school and will be doing my residency in Shreveport and would like to find a place where I could get a quick weekend hunt on days I wont be working. Thanks.

I don't have any info on clubs looking for members, but there are plenty of public land opportunities within 1 hour of Shreveport.
Where are you coming from and what will your residency be in? I'm only in Shreve because the wife is an MS2.

It would be better to get in a club people are territorial in north LA. I hunt on family land but I do know a few months ago a couple of clubs were looking for members.
I can't remember where I saw or heard it but try the online classifieds at different websites.

Weyerhaeuser is going to be reuping their leases in the next few months. The ones that aren't renewed go up for auction. Look on weyerheauserhuntinglands.com.

check on the Martin Timber Co page, they usually have some smaller tracks you could take on by yourself

What kind of hunting are you looking for ?
Wish I could point you to a specific hunting club, but I'm not aware of any right off hand. You can check classified ads. I wonder if a phone call to area sheriff offices or game wardens might help you? If you know any foresters, ask them. As already mentioned, contact the timber companies for available leases. Unfortunately, I've not had much luck w/ that. You might could look at platt maps and drive around looking for property, but that would prolly be very time consuming. Yeah, Bodcau WMA is a good idea. It's usually quite hard finding a decent hunting place in a situation like yours.....

Thanks for the advice. I have a place to hunt but its a good drive away and almost have to make a weekend out of it to go once. Im going into ophthalmology.
