Geno Smith threw well at West Virginia’s Pro Day, and talk is increasing that he’s going to be not just the first quarterback taken but one of the first players off the board at any position. And we can add the Jets and the Raiders to the list of the teams believed to be interested.
The Newark Star-Ledger says the Jets have interest in Smith, while the Contra Costa Times suggests the Raiders are interested in drafting Smith.
Previous reports have suggested that the Jaguars are interested, and the Eagles sent a contingent to West Virginia to get a private workout with Smith.
The Jaguars have the second overall pick, the Raiders have the third, the Eagles have the fourth and the Jets have the ninth. From all indications, Smith won’t be getting out of the Top 10.
And if there’s some other team out there that really loves Smith, that team may need to start thinking about placing a call to the Chiefs.
Let me know what you guys think and how things will play out for our Saints.

I totally agree and this happens every year. People start drooling over QBs and they keep getting mocked higher and higher until draft day. I have a great feeling a high impact pass rusher will be there at 15.

I feel for teams who are that desperate for a QB that they draft Geno Smith top 15

The Bills said not long after the season ended that they were willing to make the push this year to trade up in the draft for a QB. I think the best case scenario in terms of Blues stating our chances are a lot better if 2 QBs go top 10, would be for the Bills to trade up with the Raiders, and then Jacsonsville takes Smith at 2. I HIGHLY doubt it, but somehow if Barkley can get back on track with his throwing for his pro day he can jump into the conversation for a top 10 pick, and maybe even to the Bills, whether they trade up or not. Just a thought though, and things change quite fast in the offseason. The release of Fitz and lack of starting calibur QBs in FA is encouraging though.

If both Jarvis Jones and Mingo are available when the Saints pick (a big if) and they decide to go OLB, I have to say, as big of an LSU homer and Mingo fan that I am .... I think Jones is the better choice. But if they don't sign Ed Reed at safety I would probably pick Vaccaro.

I'm sorry but nobody is going to drop to us because of Geno Smith, he was always going to be drafted before our pick
