re: Does LSU have a big man coming next year?

As much as we need bigs, we also need offensive plays. Its amazing how every other team looks like they are running smooth open plays and we look like a bunch of kids running around playing street ball. I thought for sure that would stop once Trent left, but it seems to continue with JJ

You clearly haven't watched much this year. We've seen approximately 1000x more offensive sets and movement this year than we have this year. If this statement is based off today they just look tired and disinterested

I have watched several games this year and yes while there has been more sets, its just seems that there is more reckless abandonement than structure

I disagree. Their personnel is a big part of their offense look. We just don't have anything other than a three point shot and JOB down low.

6'10" John Odo - Odo is a tall, thin but athletic center. He will be a poor mans Anthony Davis who doesn't make opportunities for himself but can take advantage of plays others make. He will be called upon to hold down the paint defensively and get rebounds. He led JUCO in rebounds last year and averaged a ton of blocks per game. - (PROJ STARTER)
7'0" Darcy Malone - Malone is a very agile 7 footer. He was offered a contract to play professional australian football, but he loves basketball. He has very few post moves but a decent shot. If LSU can redshirt him they will, otherswise he will play minor minutes at the 5 backing uo Odo. A future star though.
6'8" Jarell Martin - Martin is a very athletic PF. His team recently won the 3A state championship and he celebrated by doing a backflip. But he has the body to bump around down low. The dude is the total package. That's why he is a 5 star HS guy. (PROJ STARTER)
6'7" Jordan Mickey - This guy can jump out of the gym. He is very fun to watch. He will probably play the 3 position and will be great at it. He is a consensus top 100 player and is fun to watch. I could see him playing 3 or 4 but with his ability to shoot and drive to the rim look for him to play SF out around the perimeter.
6'5" Tim Quarterman - He is coming in as a PG, but the kid can just flat out play. He doesn't have a great three shot, but can get to the rim and finish. He has very good vision and should be a formidable backup PG immediately passing up Collins.
The whole group is very athletic and fill needs. I think LSU needs a sharp shooter similar to Stringer, but won't get one till the 2015 recruits. Still happy with what LSU has done and they will have a full roster next season.
Odo is the smiling black man in the back of this one. Looks like he has a good body for playing the post.
Here is Darcy Malone.
Here's Tim Quarterman (5) blocking some dude:
Jarell Martin is frightening:
Jordan Mickey ain't no slouch either...

Amazingly he is a very athletic 7 footer which is thge exciting part of him. Australian football is a very fast game and the fact that he was offered a chance to play professionally really shows how much agility he has.

Haven't been this excited for LSU basketball since the Shaq era (with the exception of the Glen Davis/T Thomas Final Four blip).
I got so caught up in b-ball fever, I even emailed these videos (copy & pasted below) to a few friends trying to get them thinking about LSU b-ball with me again:
1. PG/SG TIM QUARTERMAN 6-6,180
LINK
2. SF JORDAN MICKEY 6-7.5, 225
LINK
3. PF JARRELL MARTIN 6-8, 190
LINK
and LINK
4. Center JOHN ODOH 6-10, 213
No video---Nigerian playing in Texas JC
avg'd 12 pts, 14.9 reb, 4.6 blocks, 21 dbl-dbl
5. Center DARCY MALONE 7-0/220 Australian
LINK
6. PF DENG DENG 6-9, 215 Australian
LINK
Now, add those guys to the roster with likely returnees in Hickey, Stringer, & JO'B..
...and next season, LSU could produce a Final Four team.
Oh and as a bonus, here's Craig Victor (6-8, 200) 2014-15, who said he can't wait to play with Jarrell Martin, his AAU buddy.

Not to mention VERY physical. If he was offered a pro shot you can be sure he'll be really tough.
We need some hard nosers

Not sure if Deng Deng ends up signing. He missed the early signing period because he didn't have the grades. I don't think he'll be part of the class, but the rest are gonna be special.

I hope he makes the grade, and glad he's still committed which hopefully means he's trying to make the grade. He'd be a perfect athletic big to come off the bench.

I love the Victor highlights. First time seeing them.
