Trust me, they will not be hurting for attendance on Saturday

I know that, it's a great event that has really grown in the last few years.

Might be thinking that more high rollers that would pass on the Saturday thing or if someone has schedule problems with Saturday might make Friday night

True, I just find the idea of BBQ and gala incongruent. I don't care what kind of $$ I had, I wouldn't be interested in $300/ head or even at the discounted price for BBQ. Roasted meats with chimichurri could get a little tired after a few tries.

I understand it's a good cause, and I hope they make a bunch of $, it's just an odd idea IMHO.

Didn't say a problem exists, they may draw a larger crowd if they could spread it out over 2 weekends at a slightly reduced price. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I kind of agree. The price is going to push some away. This is the first year for the Friday night thing, so I'm sure they will have some changes for next year.
