how deep is that lake?
Stupid deep. The average depth at lanier is 60 foot. Our deepest area is around 200. The average depth for them year round is 25 feet. They are coming shallow now which is 10-15 for the most part. Summer they are 25-30, best part of the winer, I catch them on the bottom in 45-55 foot of water...
Its a stupid lake.

I would put Lanier at the tip also, but Keiwee a close second
Of course I grew up fishing Lake Martin alot, so that needs to be in the mix as well.
Unfortunately it doesnt have the blueback herring in it that Lanier and Keowee have that makes them spots so damn fat.

North Arkansas/South Missouri lakes like Bull Shoals and Norfork Lake have some very nice spotted bass.
I could always pattern them in the heat of summer on shear rock walls where the water is about 20 to 30 feet deep. Catching them on top with a chrome/blue back baby chug bug...
Legit.
