The gap is not between "us and Bama". The gap is between Saban and Miles. ... And the gap is quickly widening.

LOL.

So let me get this straight:

Saban, whose standard for winning an MNC the past two years involved:

1) Schedules that were two to three times WEAKER than Miles
2) A Mulligan (against Miles)
3) Losses AT HOME
4) Other advantages of having Bama alum running SEC officiating, etc
5) Saban doesn't have to win the SEC...Miles does..

Is head and shoulders above Miles?

You honestly think Saban could have taken LSU's schedules the past two years and still won titles?

I don't. Bama couldn't beat LSU and aTm last year in back to back games. Imagine if a Bama alum couldn't rig the schedules and Bama had to face Florida, LSU, USCe, aTm in back to back weeks, similar to LSU. Bama would have had two losses or more.

Not to mention the need for a mulligan against that "idiot" Miles in 2011.

If the standards were the same, where would Saban/Bama be? I promise you they wouldn't have won the MNC in 2011 or 2012.

Actually, change absolutely zero plays. Just change the media narrative and Okie State goes in 2011 and Kansas St (or Oregon) in 2012. A factor completely outside of Bama's control, the media narrative, has been the absolute most critical factor in them winning their last two titles.

The seasons could have played out PRECISELY the same way and with just different interpretations in the polls of the same events and Bama would not have won a title in either of the last two years.

It's that thin of a line between being an all-time dynasty and being just another very good team.
