I never thought we'd have a shot at Durmerville. I want Butler like whoa.

And Hugo brings the KillJoy

no offense y'all. but am I the only one who knew we never had a shot a Elvis?
Posted on 3/15/13 at 2:41 pm to Mouth
Nah I didn't think we had a shot, but a guy can dream
Posted on 3/15/13 at 2:42 pm to Mouth
It was a pipe dream probably but if he would've hit the open market you never know. Look at our attempt at Kruger.

@MichelleBeisner: Source telling me, at this moment, things are not looking good between Dumervil and Broncos. A lot can happen in 39 mins though. #ticktock
Ah dammit, nvm
@AdamSchefter: Elvis Dumervil agreed to salary reduction, smartly. Remains in Denver.

nope
But I'm surprised he didn't bolt to a team that would pay him.
ETA: His restructure wasn't that bad so I don't blame him for staying.

@AlbertBreer: My understanding is Elvis Dumervil agreed to cut his base salary from $12 million to $8 million for 2013.
Way more than we could have given anyway

@MikeTriplett: For those asking which pass rusher Id suggest for #Saints, it depends on asking price, medical evaluations - both of which I don't know ...

@MikeTriplett: But my point is I'd pick the combo I liked best and roll dice on one of those guys. I like Shaun Phillips as a guy getting less pub ...

What a mess in Denver. They must have filed the Welker contract and gone over the cap. So Elvis has left the roster.

Oh shite. I'm guessing Denver can still resign him? If he was willing I take that big of a paycut, I don't see him signing anywhere else unless they back the money truck up to his house

Awesome pick up of Lewis

quote:Elvis Dumervil getting 8 million a year, when considering what all other free agent defensive ends were paid this offseason, is considered a win for him in my book. We cleared 4 million off his original deal, which was high at 12 million, and it worked out well for both sides.
But I'm surprised he didn't bolt to a team that would pay him.
I'd rather have him right now than Dwight Freeney. He's younger and more productive. However, we may still be after Freeney. Or we may not, which would make sense with him visiting the New England Patriots today.
