I just know the one I have coming can't be bred and puppies be sold as registered unless its with a dog they choose.

That's called limited registration I think. 1000 dollars is a pretty big range. You can get a dog from a breeder with good lines for that much. My opinion on paying for labs is the more you pay the less likely you are to get a dog that won't hunt. You can get lucky or unlucky with dogs in any price range though.
