Warren Buffet's stock market prediction in a letter to investors

quote:
“I think you can be quite sure that over the next ten years there are going to be a few years when the general market is plus 20% or 25%, a few when it is minus on the same order, and a majority when it is in between,” Buffett wrote.
“I haven’t any notion as to the sequence in which these will occur, nor do I think it is of any great importance for the long-term investor.”

This letter hasn’t received much attention lately, for good reason: It’s dated July 6, 1962.

Not one of his better constructed sentences for sure.
EDIT: And you misspelled his name.

I think he was being intentionally obtuse.

He really went out on a limb with that prediction.

If he was trying to be humorous with that sentence I think he failed. I think it's more likely that he just meant to say 20 years instead of 10 years, or something like that.

When my friends ask me about a particular stock, I usually say....
"In my professional opinion, three things could happen. The stock might go up. The stock might go down. And it's possible the stock might stay the same."
