Sorry man but you are just factually incorrect. Texas wanted David Jenkins, Shep, Loston, legit offers out to Ed Paris, Tony Brown, etc. Some are "debatable" like Terrance Toliver because he never showed UT interest for one reason or another, but make no mistake UT would've taken him in a heartbeat. It's like when LSU fans say we didn't lose Denzell Devall because he wanted to play in a 3-4, but the fact is we still lost out on an in-state player we wanted - no matter how you want to sugar coat it to make it easier to swallow. But hey, if you buy into the "Mack didn't offer, the kid had a handler, UT was never REALLY interested, kid wasn't a good fit, Mack wouldn't lie to him like Les did" type of bullshite that UT fans like to say, go for it. I'm not going to argue with ya there, just pointing out a simple indisputable fact that LSU gets more Texas players with UT offers than UT gets Louisiana players with LSU offers.

The only reason I replied to you is that I find the notion that, if they simply made it a priority, Texas could take Louisiana's best players and LSU's best assistant coaches to be laughable. If it were so easy, don't you think they'd be doing it? Ofcourse they would. But apparently that line of thinking is too logical for you to wrap your head around.

UT is a great program with a great brand but right now they're competing in a lesser conference with an over the hill coach. That's all there is to it. Any talk of UT hitting Louisiana hard for recruits is just that - talk. Meanwhile LSU is going in and taking the two best DBs in Texas.
