Dan Marino would trade all of his playoff wins and stats for single ring.

That should tell which is more important.

this….

and comparing Marino's dolphins in 1984 vs. Dilfer's Ravens of 2000 is retarded…. completely different brands of football….

all i know is Dilfer had more SUCCESS (you know, actually achieving the goal….) in the playoffs than Marino did…

and more to the point Flacco has had more playoff SUCCESS than Matt Ryan… sure, Ryan puts up great regular season numbers, but that and $1 will get him a cup of coffee at McD's…. i'd rather pay a guy for what he has been able to show he can do, and we know out of those two, Flacco and Ryan, who's shown they can do more….

You are completely missing the point. Trent Dilfer had very little to do with his team winning. He was awful. He couldn't even get his team td's. By your logic, you would also take the backup qb of every team that ever won the Super Bowl over Marino.

Of course every player wants that ring. But just being a part of a team that wins a ring doesn't automatically make that player more valuable than everyone else.

Robert Horry was a role player on seven championship teams, but I wouldn't take him over Charles Barkley or Patrick Ewing. You have to put things in context. What was Dilfer's role on that championship team compared to Marino's role on his teams.

How about this, you take a team of Derrick Fisher, Robert Horry, Steve Kerr, Rick Fox, and Rasho Nesterovic. I'll take John Stockton, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing, and Reggie Miller, and let's see who wins the championship. Your guys all have rings, and great playoff success. My guys have zero rings. Your guys should win.
