His hair wont matter, just look at Jarvis Jones.

Is Jarvis Jones trying to clean up his image?

why does it even matter? WRs, QBs, RBs, do you know what all three have in common with this topic? Mathieu literally RIPPED the ball out of each of their hands. His hand and arm strength shouldn't be in question.

Also why didn't his agent advise him to cut his hair? I do not think it will hurt him that he did not. However, it is a business interview and it might have made teams see him as more mature.

Not sure why he only got 4...
I'm 178, and don't work nearly as hard as TM7 and can easily get 10+.

Many if not most so called skilled position players don't do the BP, only ones who think
it will be a plus. TM7 made a mistake likely an ego thing with other DBs especially XTeam mate and opponents.
He sure looked fluid in this drills and had excellent ball skills. His weight at over 185
also helps, he is a shoe in 2-3 round pick as a special teams player, KR and Nickel.

If it isn't a big deal and you know you are gonna perform poorly then hmmm why don't ya just go ahead and sit out to avoid actually showing how shitty you're gonna do?
Sit it out how? Would you like him to have just faked an injury in order to avoid bench press? This is such a beat to fricking death topic. His 4 reps won't hurt him...he wasn't going to get drafted based on his ability to lift weight while on his back. He is going to get drafted based on his ball hawking abilities and his uncanny ability to force turnovers and plays on special teams.

I mean you don't have to fake an injury to sit out an event. You just don't sign up for it.

Because the BP is really important for being a DB
How so? Are you saying that DB's aren't called on to jam receivers in bump and run coverage?

Don't you think that might raise some questions during his interview?

Being able to jam or press a receiver is more than just being strong up top or having good bench numbers.
The best thing you need is good footwork to stay in front and then jam with your hands. Getting in position with you feet and body is more important to jamming a receiver than benching a lot.
There's a reason a lot of DBs chose to sit out the bench at the combine. It's because it's just not that important for the position.

I think he was trying to do as much as possible at the draft, because he sat out a whole year.
I don't think it'll hurt him at all, since bench really isn't too important for corners.
It's really a mute point honestly

I think, overall, tyrann's combine has been a huge success and I think he has definitely moved up draft boards. My only point is if TM was my client, I wouldn't even want the slightest blemish on his résumé. If he would've done 6 or 7 reps then it doesn't raise any eyebrows. But it's hard to forget about the 4 reps. It would've been better with that information not out there.
Posted on 2/27/13 at 11:02 am to snake23
Can you explain what exactly the difference between 4 reps and 6 reps would have made? Not trying to be a dick, that just seems a little silly.
Tyrann had a great combine. I think his football skills during the on-field drills were impressive to most. His 40 time was impressive to most. Those are the things that matter most. Mix that with his ability to force turnovers. The only thing he did was help himself at the combine.
