Want to come teach me to trap and get a chance to shoot some bacon at the same time?

We counted up around that many during hunting season, we usually just leave them for the buzzards.

Took a game mammals class at ULM fot my 400 level biology elective. Best class i ever took. We got to go out and trap coyotes, beavers, nutria, etc. Highlight of the year was blowing up beaver dams.

Pretty much. We went to that high fenced property between Monroe and Sterlington first and drove around the entire fence. Set snares everywhere we came across a coyote burrow under it. Came back the next morning and dispatched any we caught with .22s. Took em back to campus and learned how to skin em. The beaver one was by far the most fun. We set traditional steel traps as well as what became my personal favorite, conibears. Those bastards are bad.

Would love to start doing this. I have about 1k acres that I'd love to thin the coyotes on and could prob aquire more land.
I looked into it but just don't know how to prepare the hides

I'm surprised the poster hardhead hasn't chimed in.
That boy is a trappin' fool...
We caught a coon one time and took it to the local pelt buyer and the guy said it was the biggest coon he had ever seen. Said pelt buyer is one of the biggest distributors of traps and accessories in the state. That says a lot.

With the moon like it is, it should be a good night for trapping.
I was worried about the wind but it died down a dark. There should be plenty of fresh sign to set on this morning.
