I love a 4-4-2 because of the type of player Dempsey is.
I don't know if Shea is ready to be a starter in a World Cup. I'm not sold on him yet, but he can be a spark off the bench.
I also don't see Jones coming off the bench. He's probably the third best field player behind Bradley and Dempsey.

Yup, which is why I like that initial starting XI I posted. Dempsey is still very good on the wing and Shea is so feast or famine right now.
