In your area, Sandy Creek.
ETA: It will still be "early" but I'm glad I'll get a shot in there before it gets over run.

Watch for SNAKES....The are stirring already. That area is full of deer and turkeys as well.I took the kids riding out back and we saw 6 or 7 birds yesterday.....couldnt tell what sex though.I have seen more turkeys in the last year or so up here than I have in previous years.

Yeah we've hunted the public land around there for a long time. It was really good about 10-12 years ago, then went through several down years. But most reports are there were several good hatches in a row within the last few years.

I've hunted in Sandy Creek for about 5 years and they have a lot of turkeys there. And snakes.... lots of them.. Good luck

Yeah I've hunted it since I was a kid, but I can't remember the last time I hunted there when there wasn't a truck parked every 300 yards.
Pdubya, are the dogwoods blooming yet?

Congrats, the season is drawing close. I just finished booking my trip for April. Gonna do a full week and hunt both Kansas and Nebraska.

I'm going to Missouri the second week of their season and we're thinking about adding a few extra days to catch either Kansas or Nebraska. They both seem to have a lot of public access, which would you recommend?

I've not hunted Kansas or Nebraska before. I do know that the SE section of Nebaska is absolutely covered up in turkeys and Kansas has a pile of them too. A lot of guys like hunting Indian land in Nebraska and I've had a few tell me that old fashioned knocking at the farmers door works in that area of the country too.
