Mass Effect 2 Question (Spoilers, not that many of you haven't played it)

Jack keeps dying in the ending sequence. She isn't loyal, but she's close. I did her mission, but sided with Miranda when they fought. Do I just have to max out my Paragon (or Renegade) to talk to her and get her back on my side?

A few things, she isn't loyal because you sided against her which means she is the first choice to be killed assuming all other squaddies are loyal. Who did you take to fight the boss?

You mean with me in my squad?
I brought Mordin and Thane. Should I just bring her with me to fight the giant, not very cool human reaper?

She still might die, there is a formula for deciding who lives and dies and it runs by who is loyal and who you leave behind to hold the line. You want to take guys like Thane and Mordin with you because they aren't worth as much as Grunt and Zaeed defending. You might try bringing Jack along for the boss but she might not make it again.

I believe it is too late to fix at this point.
You needed to have high enough Paragon during the Miranda/Jack confrontation in order to resolve the situation without losing either of their loyalties.
During the Final Mission, make sure you don't use her to lead anything. Pick Samara to hold up the shield and leave Jack behind to hold the door.
If you take Jack with you to fight the final boss or use her to support the shield, then she will die every time without loyalty.

I took an unloyal Tali my first time through and she died. Not sure if it is a guaranteed thing or not, but I think it is.

If you choose right nobody dies. If you did her loyalty mission you should be fine.

Salarian Scientist will forever hold a special place in my heart. All the feels.
Also, OP:
Explains what characters are best suited for which roles during the suicide mission

Exactly, if you leave the right people behind you should be okay. I got so frustrated the first two times I did it because Mordin died at the end even though he was loyal. I learned that taking guys like Legion and Grunt was a bad idea.

Mordin always gets sent back to the ship. His shite is too weak to stay on the front lines.

I'm always torn about whether or not to shoot him on Wreave playthroughs to stop the Genophage cure

Yeah I'd be thinking everyone got saved and then it pans to Mordin dead face down on the collector base and I'm like what the frick.
