Our country's most super secret squirrels still use the 1911. Look what Devgru and the like use today. Look at the MEUSOC, those pistols are antiques yet they are being replaced with another 1911.

Secret squirrels? Do you think these squirrels spill drinks and let their guns get as dirty as truck guns get? Sure they get them muddy and sandy, but do they sit up for months on end? Great example.

eta: I believe there are 1911's still serving with 500,000 rounds through them. Although the only original part may be the receiver(frame).

Good opinion but thats all it is. ETA: This is actually not an opinion at all. It is just an statement that is backed by zero facts or evidence.

That plastic receiver just won't cut that.

How do you know this? Have you personally shot "500,000" rounds through a "plastic" gun?

Perhaps you have never seen a combat weapon. A truck gun will not get nearly as dirty as one a soldier is carrying and beating the crap out of.

Hardly opinion, look it up. Most guns produced have a thing called a serial number and the armorers keep logs on these weapons, especially those use by force recon and the like.

Once again, if you have seen weapons that have been used for decades and been through combat and training you will notice they are beat to crap. Metal holds up a bit better than plastic.

You need to do some research.
