My German friend is wanting to make some brezels and she needs that to make them.
She says she usually gets it from an apothecary in Germany.
Where in BR?

She's making pretzels, right?
Be prepared for some stares, as it seems it's also used to make meth. LINK

Probably at an apothecary (drug store) here as well. It's sold as food grade and I'd be leery of using a drain cleaner product. Amazon also sells it.

I don't know what brezels are. I guess.

The plumbing section at Home deport or Lowes has lye in their drain cleaner section. It will be very pure. If not it will say so, because they must list ingredients. If not, drive to meridian and I'll get you some from the warehouse

you don't eat the lye, its just for processing the food.
If it says lye, then its lye.
The guy above my first post linked the actual product.
There is no "food grade" lye. Lye is lye. You eat it you die.
