Because there are too many fricking foreigners in baseball. Call me racist, but it's the truth. South America needs to create their own league.

Why would you not want the best players here?

Also they do have their own league.

Um, the whole point of MLB is to have the greatest collection of baseball players from around the world, hence the best "product" to create a league that has national and international appeal.

Contrary to what you believe, it is not a jobs program for Americans. It is an athletic meritocracy. If the "foreigners" were banned the quality of the product would be downgraded TREMENDOUSLY, and I for one want to see the best players in the world, not the best guys who went to LSU.

South America, Central America, and Mexico do have leagues of their own. The best of their best come to the U.S. (along with the Japanese, Koreans, etc.) which is why we have the best baseball league in the world. Sort of like when the game got better by ending segregation.

I liked watching as a kid and seeing people like me play. Now almost every player's last name ends in a Z. Part of the reason I don't enjoy it as much. Most of the stars can't even speak English well so it's hard as a fan to watch interviews and get to know them (Cabrera, All Star MVP this year).
