That is part of what made him so dominant. Everyone on the court, everyone in the arena, and everyone watching on TV knew exactly what was going to happen when he got the ball, and he did it anyway.

Zones have killed that style. You just can't dump the ball into the post and let guys back their men all the way under the rim, anymore.
Big men have basically turned into guys that wait for dump offs from players driving the lane.
