You had a coach that gave more PT to a player that is statistically better than you? Sounds like a good coach to me.

translation: "I was a mediocre player and quit because I was never going to get significant playing time"

I've seen it 1000 times playing and coaching, kid doesn't get playing time, oh it's just because the coach doesn't like me. Next year it's "Oh I quit because the coach was an a-hole" For some reason that never seems to bother the guys who are good enough to play...

Tell you what going into high school I was not a very good basketball player, I worked my arse off, harder than pretty much all my teammates and they admitted that. By my senior year I was a contributing member of the team, played significant minutes but always came off the bench. Didn't bother me one bit, I got the amount of playing time that I deserved based off of the quality of player I was and nothing else. Did I believe there were some guys starting that I was as good as? Sure but that's not my decision, and when I got minutes I played my arse off and that turned into more and more minutes for me
