I think I can get 1.20 at 4.3 but I never trust undervolting too much. I just rather run a little hotter and be safe at the same time.

About the temps I am trying to kind of work the voltage back a little more. I am not super worried about 24 hours of prime or anything. I'm using one hour linpack as a baseline stability test and the blend for a few hours to really see what the max temps are. I already know what my voltage ceiling is so now I'm just trying to get the most out of the multiplier.

Okay good.
Yeah find your ceiling for core clock at the voltage you feel safe with.
I always start over bolting at a core clock I want to reach then check temps.. Then lower voltages until it isn't stable.
Sounds like you are doing the same yes?

Pretty much. I'm about to finish an hour of linpack 4.3 at 1.205. Avg temps are 60 on the low core and 67 on the others. Max of 69 across all cores. I'm gonna run prime to see what the temps get up to on the stressful sets. If it doesn't go past 75 I will be fine with that voltage and then try 4.4.

they can get fricked for 700 dollars. that has got to be a joke.
Okay so I am one hour of occt linpack and one hour of blend stable at 4.3 1.205 volts. actual vcore in HW monitor about 1.23. Avg temps in linpack 67 with max 69. Easy set of prime 66 avg. Hard set of prime 73 avg on hottest core with unsustained maximums of 77 on two cores. Better but still not quite as low as I would like. Might bump the multiplier to 44 and see if I pass linpack. I could settle for those temps if I can get to 4.4 or 4.5.

Fckk that kit.
You can hit 3000 on 2400 dominators. Fcking dumb even for benching.

First time we see Voltra cores.. Maxwell next year is the GPU when have been waiting for since Fermi.

Does stacked DRAM mean what I think it means?
Posted on 3/19/13 at 2:54 pm to VABuckeye
What do u think it means? Because I don't know what it means.
Posted on 3/19/13 at 3:25 pm to puffulufogous
Why don't you tell me what you think it means and Ill tell you if I agree

Stacked dram
Low latency
More ram per gpu per given realstate
Small form factors
I have no clue what else

Latency latency latency
Lower latency turns into tons of things.

So if cards are upping the memory big time like rumored, is it possible we can expect a big jump in resolution in the next few years? 4k tvs are now hitting the market, and almost every smart phone can do 1080. I can see 1440 getting cheaper and becoming more of a standard and possibly going further than that. Thoughts?

1600 is common among enthusiasts.
So I ordered a black crossfirex cable so I wouldn't have to use that ugly copper colored one, and now I lost it. Damn me and my room full of shite

Isn't 4k resolution coming up pretty quick?

I'm not so sure. They are making 4k displays but they're pretty rare and very expensive. I also don't think it will be coming to gaming for a while. If 1440 is a third more pixels than 1080 then 4k is 4 times as many as 1080 roughly. If 4k is coming relatively soon, it isn't coming to 24-27 inch monitors very soon. 4k is mainly going to be coming to larger screens 45 inches and above because at that size 4k resolution will make a noticeable difference over 1080p. 4k is also going to be the next marketing gimmick for TV manufacturers to crank prices back up.
Mobile devices currently benefit from pixel densities over 200ppi because they are viewed from 3-5 inches where pixels are discernible. Most people view their monitor at 2 feet. In order to reach the density of "retina" displays you would need 8k on a 25-27 inch monitor. Could PC gaming use an increase in pixel density from 95ppi(25 inch screen at 1080)? Hell yes, that's what 1440 and 1600 displays are for, but nobody needs 4k for a computer monitor especially at stupid high prices. There's not enough availability of name brand 1440 monitors as it is now. Not to mention I don't think any current display out would support 4k and 120Hz refresh rate which is particularly important to some gamers.
Long story short, look how long it is taking for the standard to change from 1080 to 1440. Now think about the logistics of developing, pricing, producing, and actually SELLING 4k displays in the typical monitor sizes. Not going to happen any time soon IMO.

Nice info puff. I was thing from a pure enthusiast view I suppose and not so much gaming. Is there a GPU available that could push an intense game like crysis 3 at 60fps on 4k? 2 or 3 Titans SLi'd maybe?
