Assuming he wasn't picked up while i was puking my head off yesterday that is.

I wish the cardinals would put the money out for him but John Mozeliak has made it very clear that he is happy with fielding a starting rotation very heavy with young hard throwers. Although i wish the loss of Chris Carpenter would make him rethink that and try to keep another veteran arm.

St Louis has more than enough payroll and while im not sure what lohse is looking for in terms of years, i would think 4-6 years maybe, The loss of pujols at least made for 200M we dont have to worry about paying him.

I would say Angels, Dodgers, or Braves would be the first 3 to try and make a serious deal. Mariners trying to spend money as well.

Doubt the Braves are interested. In fact, 99% sure they are not.

The issue isn't really money for many teams it is the draft pick they would have to give up to sign him plus the money

Exactly.

Not worth surrendering a high pick for a 33 year old guy who is good, not great.

The draft pick compensation wouldn't be nearly as bad like the Prince Fielders and Albert Pujols

no way you give lohse a 3 or more year deal.

he wants to come back for a 1 year 15-16mil deal, it's worth it, 2 years or 3 at that price? no way.

It is a 1st round pick, same as the one they had to surrender unless the pick is protected.

That plus Kyle Lohse isn't exactly Prince Fielder or Albert Pujols

The Braves have absolutely no interest right now

33 years old
wants 13-15 million a year
wants 4+ year contract
will cost a team a 1st round pick to sign

Sounds attractive eh?

Yes previous 2 seasons he has had a 2.89 and 3.39 ERA but previous two he has a 6.55 and 4.74 ERA and his career era is 4.45

I bet he and Michael Bourn are fricking pissed, because the new draft pick compensation rule really "screwed" them both.

Isn't Lohse a Type A Free Agent? Doubt that many team will be willing to trade a draft pick for Lohse.

If the Braves go after another pitcher, it will be trading for a top of the rotation starter and that might not be needed if Medlen turns into an ace.. Braves rotation rotation is already set, plus Beachy will be returning in June/July.

Type A/B isn't a thing anymore. It's just qualifying offers, which is a one year deal at an average of the top 125 salaries. If a player turns that down, the team who signs him gives up their first round pick unless it's top 10, then they give up their second round pick. The team losing the player gets a pick between the first and second rounds.

If the Braves add a starter, it'd be at the deadline, and I wouldn't be shocked if that happened because of injury or whatever

A few decent options are available that could provide a few innings during the season. Players that would cost barely more than veteran minimum I would assume

That too. A Roy Oswalt or someone like that.

What Ben Sheets did was remarkable this year.
