Key word being "if". We are hearing one side of a conversation the other side is prohibited from participating in. One thing that seems to not be in dispute is that Lawson has a scholarship offer to enroll next January. So, in my view, to say his scholarship was pulled is not entirely accurate.
Good point. Big problem with the whole cottage industry of recruiting coverage. The NCAA tries to prevent it but there's a thriving industry anyway that thrives around the NCAA rules. But I'll say this: More often than not, the school uses their inability to comment to ITS advantage, not the other way around.

I've been told many an athlete from Livingston has had the same course pass through the clearinghouse. There may be an issue with how the NCAA interprets the class per LSU's entry requirements though. For example, it could pass the clearinghouse for a kid to go to Bama, but the NCAA may think LSU allowing it would be too liberal an interpretation of its own admissions standard.
That's pure speculation on my part. I am confident that Livingston Parish school people who know a thing or two seem the think the class is just fine per the NCAA.
