re: How many of you guys Hog Hunt with dogs?

My father n law is just getting into this. He has been a deer dog man for 40 years. He ha two bay dogs , but is looking for a top "track"/trail dog. It's our understanding that this is the dog that will locate the hog(trailing it silently until it jumps) then the bay/pack dogs kick in. Any info would be appreciated.

You've got bay dogs who track the hogs and nip at the hog, and then you've got the kill dog that actually is trained to take the dog down. I've seen variations of this though.
