Worst Clint movie ever? I'd say that's pretty definite.

Ignoring the stuff he did in the 50s, beginning with A Fistful of Dollars, it's hard to argue that either Bronco Billy or Firefox is better than Heartbreak Ridge. I actually liked all three movies, but they are not his best work - face it, Clint has had the luxury of being in good roles early, and taking control of his career about 35 years ago. Some of his much lesser known works - at least to more casual film fans - The Beguiled and Honkytonk Man, contain some of his best performances.

Anyone who claims they've seen the worst Clint movie ever without mentioning City Heat as a contender is a fricking piker.

That was a horrible meandering mess of a film, in part because the studio figured that they didn't need a script when they had box office winners Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds together on-screen.

That being said, I'll agree that Bronco Billy and Firefox should also be in the discussion.

Good catch - I had, literally, blocked that movie from my memory.

On hindsight - (Clint has directed himself in the vast majority of films since Josey Wales), with Richard Benjamin directing a script based on a Blake Edwards story, City Heat, should have been better than it was. I think, ultimately, it comes down to chemistry - sometimes great ingredients just don't go together.

But, anyway, yeah, certainly should top the list of discussion of worst films with Clint Eastwood, at least since he became a bona fide star.
