Just to give you some context - the 2010 World Cup Final drew only 3 million more viewers than the Alabama-LSU game this past season.
Yeah. I think it's well-established that college football is more popular right now in America.
It appears that we have conflicting ratings info. I don't know which one to believe. The point was that a lot of Americans watched after the USMNT got put out.

Your ratings include Spanish TV.

That's it.
Now, the people who watched in Spanish were in America, according to those stats...but, depending on your definition of "Americans", that might not count.

Did anyone mention that soccer is ghey?

We try not to repeat the obvious.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say a majority of those who watched the game on Spanish TV were illegal immigrants. Could be wrong though. But yeah...if you include those numbers, 24.3 million people tuned into the World Cup Final in the United States.

No, but seriously. An 8.1 is more than I expected for the WC Final. I am slightly impressed. I was in the Netherlands during the day of the match there and you could tell all the tourists because they were the only ones not wearing orange.

...meaning that the majority of Americans didn't stop watching after the USMNT went out. In fact, more tuned into the final than the elimination game.
That's all I was arguing.

Soccer is the face of pussification in America

That remains to be seen. "Americans" is the key word and I don't consider illegal immigrants as Americans, even if they do live here.

Dude soccer is boring as shite to watch on tv. takes them 2 minutes to move the damn thing across the field and even then they may take 10 shots a game per team. It's boring as frick. At least with commercials I can get a break from nothing going on.
The hispanic announcers are top notch though.
