"We shouldn't stop there. We should restore the ban on military-style assault weapons and a 10-round limit for magazines."—President Obama

How nervous should we be?

I don't know why anyone would be surprised or nervous. Making background checks required for all sales along with limits on military-looking stuff and high capacity magazines are all that has really been discussed anyway. These kinds of restrictions are not remotely similar to "taking away our guns." In my estimation, the discussion of these restrictions isn't enough to motivate me to run around like a crazy person and spend my rent money on more hardware which I don't really need.

That's how it starts. In 50 years, gun ownership by the general population will be a thing of the past.

Obama favors a gun ban? New and refreshing information.

He can push all he wants. I've said it before on here and I'll say it again... The GOP still holds the House. Without the house, this bill isn't going anywhere. There are a lot of dem senators that aren't on the Feinstein gun bill bandwagon, either.

Everyone needs to chill the frick out. This isn't something that can be changed by EO.

I really want to know what Louisiana government's immediate reaction would be to some sort of ban. I think bobby (like I know the mf'er) is staying quiet for political reasons but I'm interested in what he would say/do.

I give zero fux.

BHO's legacy currently resides in his health care bill. There is still an enormous amount of work to be done (there are still legal challenges to the law pending) to meet his 2014 implementation timetable.

He won't be able to concentrate on both ObamaHealthcare and ObamaGuncare simultaneously.

Best part is, if he is bites off more than he can chew, both agendas fail.
