except for one thing....our QB isn't "mobile", he's pro-style

Well, I was just pointing out what Miles saw last night. Flacco did not run once, ans spread the ball out to 9 different people in 57 plays. CK used 6 people in 38 plays.

Thats why we still run him in the option sometimes.

He ran an option pitch play less than a handful of times.
Jesus.

Mobile doesnt win the big games. It takes your playmakers out of the game, And when mobile is shut down, as it usually is (see Tebow, Russell Wilson, Kaepernick, JJ, Fran Tarkenton, etc). The rhythm is then off
But our coach is enamored by them
And pointing out his hang-up, makes me butthurt?
Right
WTF are you blabbering about?
Kaepernick made some dynamic plays last night, and Miles commented on it. So did every other sports personality watching the game.
If he has such a hang up on moblie QBs, then please explain Mett to me?

according to League Moron, Mett is a mobile QB because he ran the option twice

Besides, who gives a damn what works or not in the NFL? Worked well enough in college for Vince Young, Tim Tebow, Chris Leak and Tommy Frazier.

Mett? Mett went to Ga. Miles wanted Russell Shepard. Dual threat RS.
We took Mett after we found out RS wasnt as mobile as we had hoped. Then he went after Liggins, Randall and Bolden. They didnt work out either.
He keeps trying. He just cant seem to get it to work. But he likes to watch them, tho. Kept tweeting about it last night

Mobile QBs always have a good 1st year, because they bring the unexpected. Defenses adjust, and mitigate the damage. Its not like the 49ers werent making the playoffs with Alex Smith, or the Seahawks with Matt Flynn

Miles still had to recruit Mett to LSU.
If Miles had such a hang up on mobile QBs wouldn't he have played those guys over Mett?
If you believe that happened in the past then why isn;t it happening in the present?

Yes in the NFL where mobile QBs are common, they are completely surprised to face mobile QBs.

Probably don't make the Super Bowl, plus Smith is pretty mobile.

Maybe, maybe not.
So all these NFl coaches have the same hang ups as Miles, yet are making it to the playoffs and Super Bowl?

And why don't you address the rest of my post about college vs. NFL?
Good point though, Alex Smith is also another pretty successful and pretty mobile QB in the NFL.

Kaepernick put up over 360 yds against a very good ravens defense. If the ravens don't get a ST score or if kaepernick completes just one more pass; he is likely the superbowl MVP. Throw in the fact it's Kaepernick's 11th start of his career and you start to see why Jim and Les like Kaepernick.

Maybe the Seahawks wouldn't have made it without RW. IMO he was the best of the 1st year rookies. He can run but would prefer to beat you with his arm. Throwing Tebow into your argument is moot as noone considers him a QB that can win with his arm in the NFL. Mike Vick may be a poster child of a guy who never developed the mental aspects of the game @ QB, though, and relies upon his feet too frequently. Kaepernick and Wilson might have very good careers as they demonstrate good overall position awareness and their feet can help get them out of bad plays. The 9ers staff have raved about K's football smarts, as did Wilson's coaches at NCSU, Wisconsin, and Seattle, he is a sharp guy. RG3 will not make it if he continues to run with the same frequency as this year, but he is another player with a good mind and would benefit from better players around him.

Yeah, Tebow totally got shut down in college all the time!
Wilson passed for 385 yds and 2 TDs while rushing for 60 yds and another TD with a 109 QB Rating in the game they lost to the Falcons--BIG shutdown there!
Kaepernick only threw for 300 yds and a TD in the Superbowl while rushing for another 60 and a TD, coming within 5 yards of a championship in his second year--total shutdown. We know he won't accomplish shite.
Fran Tarkenton is a Hall of Famer who went to multiple Superbowls, owned a big chunk of the record book when he retired and is considered one of the greatest QBs of all time--Yup, you're right, he never won any big games. Teams totally figured him out and shut him down all the time.
JJ totally fits in with those guys. Great list. Bunch of losers there.
Seriously, I'm glad you hung up to listen. I hope you unplug your computer and destroy it with a hammer. Thanks.
