I don't know, but I have absolutely no idea why any of our recruits would think that Texas would be a better fit for them than LSU. Especially at DE.

Hopefully he's paying attention to the Applewhite fiasco.

Same weekend RN is at LSU, probably a "just in case" visit.

Theres no way he would sign with texas just because of Nkemdiche. He is a rivals 5 star and high 4 on the other services.

I doubt anything comes of this, but we don't have any DE's committed so that could be appealing. Who knows, looks like Porter was the catalyst in this whole thing. I'd be more worried about trying to hold on to A'Shawn than anything else but with that said, DE is a huge need.

Les Miles really needs to fix the North Louisiana/South Louisiana dynamics on the team. Its killing our DE recruiting

Look you people need to understand. When a top recruit visits LSU it is just for a rree visit but when an LSU commit visits somewhere it is so they can jump ship. Come on get with the program.

A few quotes from the article:
“Coach Porter has always been in touch with Frank. When he got to Texas, he reached back out to get back in touch with Frank,” Williams said. “Coach Porter is probably one of the better recruiters in the country, and he does it the right way. We have a great respect for coach Porter. With him going to Texas and the type of program they have down there, and he’s there, there’s definitely an opportunity to go down and see what they have.”
Despite the visit, Williams insisted Herron remains “very solid” in his commitment to LSU. But before he signs on Wednesday, he wants to take one last visit to confirm his pledge.
“We love LSU. LSU has been loyal to Frank throughout the entire process,” Williams said. “He is a very important part of their class and we really love those coaches. It feels like family for him down there.

It could definitely affect his future playing time.

I disagree. Herron will more than likely end up at DT.

At this level, nobody should be afraid of competition, unless you're a DB from Algiers with a loudmouth Dad, still smarting from not being offered by LSU twenty years earlier.

Read the quotes. They are taking the trip out of respect for Porter. I don't think there is much to see here.

Yeah but we just lost our 4 deep. So even if we got RN it's not like he wouldn't be getting early PT.

Not really. There are 2 DE spots on the field and hes likely to grow into a DT
