think ya got it's $5.5 + salary to keep him. Vet minimum would be $840K. So $6.3mil to stay.

I understand now. Then nevermind, time to let him walk.

Is there any trade potential.

Let me ask you... I have a 32yo DE with declining skills. You'll be obligated to his $14.5mil cap hit. If you can do a new deal with him you still have to account for $5.5mil towards your cap on top of that. Interested?

I would think there would be some market for him somewhere. Avril, Osi and Freeny will be going elsewhere. The Colts and Giants have late draft picks. We could trade him to the Colts for a 6th rounder or something.

Really? for a 32yo declining skills player that you have $5+mil of cap obligated to even if you cut him? Almost $15mil of obligation if ya keep him as is. The Colts would want another 4-3 background DE that has never played any 3-4?

We gotta pay the price for the bad decision the team made in extending him in '08 at $61mil for 6 years.

Many might know we still had $1million of cap hit still this past season for dead money to Reggie Bush.

Loomis is a top cap manager but no one bats 1.000 when it comes to these decisions.
