I am sure you could call and try the same "I'm leaving if..." as you do with other credit cards, but you get a free night at a Marriott hotel anyways with your annual fee, so it pays for itself.
@bigblake - yes, you are correct. It definitely lends itself to a frequent traveler that likes Marriott. That's the reason for the "could".
