I finally got my W-2 today and in box 12a I have a close D and my 401k shown. This is the same as every year. But what is different is box 12b has a code DD and lists $16k+ in that line
I searched and that is my company provided health insurance portion. Guessing this is obamacare changes. Question is this now taxable?

Not taxable. Read an article about it today. It is on there to let the government know you have insurance and also in an effort to increase awareness of costs.

Company paid portion of your health insurance. You will have to ay taxes on it as part of Obamacare in the future.

Will the amount of DD be taxed as part of your regular income or at a different rate? And when will that start?

Bump.
Just starting to look through w-2 now. Still can't file til the end of February but what is this DD code?
I know what the "income" is. Will this be subject to taxes in future years?
