He does have a workout today with the Saints and by now it's either still ongoing or finished.
Curious to see how it went...

3rd round or later. Really doesn't matter since I'm convinced he is going to be a really good pro.

I have a buddy that works in the facility (this is my contact I used for some of my 2012 training camp posts) that says he looks fast and quick in cuts, showed good hands on deep balls with his back to the passer. At one point they had him run the length of the field as if he were on special teams and swarm the ball; he did well in the drill by staying in his lane and swarming to the ball. The only negative he could see was the burst off the line and initial physical contact with a reciever, in that at times Chad seemed lost and slow. Both of those things will take time to come back to his natural talents once he sees playing and practice time. Loomis, Payton, and a few defensive players were in house today and stayed for the workout.

Thanks for the update.
Hope the coaches are willing to work to correct his few issues.
The Saints are a team made up of players who just love the game and Chad would fit right into that.

my biggest concern with him is..when was the last time he got hit in the legs? Id hate for someone to fall on him when coming down or something similar. i hope he could handle NFL speed and action cause i'd like to see him do well.

Damn hope he kicked a$$! Saints then sign him and he kicks a$$ on sundays.

I wouldnt worry too much about someone falling on his legs or that initial impact to his injured leg. For some people who have never been through rehab and physical therapy, with the right people conucting training and workouts PT and rehab can do wonders to build up muscle. Still, he will always have to work harder than most to stay in shape and keep his legs strong and fresh.
