I'm pretty a sure Rhymes, Ross and Sciambra all had two hits today in the scrimmage.

Ah. I missed all of their first at bats.
Rhymes rbi at bat against Nola was vintage rhymes.

Sciambra doubled off Nola in the 1st and then Rhymes doubled him in. Nola settled in after that. The hitting seems ahead of the pitching at this point of the Spring.

Laird had a nice hit thru the right side that was the hardest hit ball I've seen from him yet. Not saying it is a bad thing, but from what I've seen, he appears to be a "slap hitter" that is just trying to put the ball in play and use his speed to get on base. The single today was really stroked though. He got robbed early on a nice play by Edward in LF on a ball that was just chipped out into LF.

The first scrimmage I went to he hit the ball on the screws twice (one being a line drive out to cf though). My first impression of him was the best of the three and Stevenson hasn't done much at the plate when I've watched. And I haven't seen mcmullen do anything.

I think Laird is solidifying himself in the right field spot. Alex Edward is making a pretty good run as being the right handed DH.

As someone said the other day in another thread (could have been you), our sample size is too small at this point to make any decisions. All 3 of these guys seem to have great potential. It is great to have options at this point. It will come down to who hits.

McCune struggled in his first inning. gave up 2 runs and never actually got the 3rd out. He settled down after that and pitched 2 scoreless. Eades pitched well. Ibarra went deep. Chinea had a single and a double. bregman went 2-2 with two walks. moore had a 2 run double.

Did anyone go out there today? Who was #16 playing SS?
Posted on 2/3/13 at 3:39 pm to TigerCub
I think that was Barash; I didn't see #11 out there.
Posted on 2/3/13 at 3:47 pm to ScubaTiger
I thought that was him but wasn't sure

No clue who #16 is. Only one without a name and not on roster.
