X files had potential to be better. But fringe was much better at sticking to a plan for overall arcs and mythology. As a story from beginning to end fringe is so much better that it isn't even close.

There are so many episodic story lines that the major plot really didn't matter as much. We should have gotten closure on mulder's sister. That's what the show is really about. Mulder's search for Samantha.

The characters are all so good, especially fox mulder.

This... and I loved me some X-Files. I think there are some individual x-files episodes that are amazing... as well as some short arcs... but they couldn't keep the long game in mind.

Seasons 2 and 3 of Fringe... the way it ramped up = Some of the best storytelling in the history of television IMO.

Now I doubt it would ever happen - but I think there's enough material to make a Fringe full length movie or two (that take place between 2013 and 2015 so Walter is there). Both of the X-files feature-length movies were good (especially the first one).
