A pre-CBA contract like Granger's (or Rudy Gay's) is a cancer on a team like Indiana. For us, it could be an opportunity to get a quality player who is slightly (but not comically) overpaid. That's all I was saying.
But we still don't have the pieces to make the trade. I can't see any situation where we can make a trade to get a solid SF that isn't just a lateral trade because we'll leave ourselves in the same situation just at a different position. If we had a better backup for Vazquez or Lopez I'd be more willing to send one of them in a trade, but sending them away just leaves us with no PG or C, so having a SF does nothing for us.
Might as well wait it out and see what happens in FA and the draft

Yeah, the cap space we have next year is valuable for trades with teams trying to clear space without taking salary back. No reason to make a trade for a guy like Granger this season.
