You must have missed the point about the acc being much, much tougher than the sun belt

No I didn't miss that point. You must have missed my point how Haith had very little success in the ACC. Is it impossible to have any success in the ACC now? A great coach like Haith can only make it to the NCAA once while in such a great conference, yet Johnny Jones in the lowly sunbelt has made it twice?

So you're ok with lsu, which has one of the largest budgets in the top athletic conference, having a coach whose career highlight is 4 good sun belt tourney finishes? No regular season championships, no signature tourney wins, no regular appearances in the sweet 16. That's what is called incommensurate. It's a clear sign of lack of support for basketball from the ad.

Hate to break it to you, but LSU is not currently a power house basketball school which can attract elite coaches. Jones wasn't LSU's first option but that doesn't mean he can't be successful here, just look at Haith.

Also Haith has 1 more tourney win that Jones, 0 sweet 16 appearances, no signature tourney wins, yet you consider him an elite coach...

1. Haith has been a finalist for the naismith award because people recognize the difficulty in how well he did at miami. Jones, not so much.
2. I don't know why you're focusing on haith. Jones probably can't compete with any of the coaches in the top tier of the conference.
3. Lsu will not break into the top tier until it starts hiring better coaches. Coaches that win 2 tourney games regularly. My point is it takes commitment commensurate with lsu's budget. Failure to make such a commitment is on the ad.
4. I fully acknowledge that jones could potentially be the greatest bball coach in the history of the game. But you have to admit he is an incredibly disappointing hire.
