re: As Good as our Talent is, How has our Offense Been So Bad?

Miles has not allowed himself to see that 5 consecutive years of poor lower-third national offensive performance with top-ten national talent is actually a problem.
He does not see a problem.
In his mind, it is always a matter of execution. Problem with that is that it is impossible, by chances alone, that execution can be an issue without being sourced by poor offensive coaches.
Coaching and coaching philosophy is definitely the issue, and Miles is still in total denial of that.

Did you think of all this by yourself or did you plagiarize it from every other thread on tigerdroppings?

Lsu, like most of the high end sec teams put a lot of their best athletes on defense (except arky with petrinno and auburn with maltzan) Many other schools put their best on offense.

Also. Some of our offensive talent was/is overrated.

Our 2008 year was the pick 6 year. Wasn't it like 100 out of 128 FBS schools? Or was it the next year?
Any more or less overrated than any other SEC school hauling in 4 and 5 star players?

Two offensive linemen fighting over the remote.

Shouldn't we at least rank in the top 50?
We had an up and down year. We had some early success against weak teams, but then struggled in the early part of our conference schedule. We seemed to come together midseason, but then kinda limped to the finish.
Overall, the offense lacked any sort of killer instinct this year.
With everyone we have back, I have reason to be optimistic about next year. The offense will have a lot of leadership and the experience of close losses this year should be a painful reminder to finish games.

it's a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enema bag. The bowels of our offensive system are clogged and need to be flushed out.

I remember this question being thrown around during Cholly Mac days.

I would just like to see LSU at least have the best college offense in the state of Louisiana. No reason Louisiana Tech should have a better offense than LSU and I'm not just talking about statistically. I think we have better talent on offense than La Tech. Why does their offense look like a smooth running machine and ours looks like a broke down sputtering jalopy. Granted we don't have the best talent in the SEC on offense, Mett has his deficiencies, but we should be doing much better than what we have been with the talent we have.

FWIW, I see us improving next year.
Good night, I'm out.
