While I agree that all of the guitarists you mentioned are fantastic, there's a significant list that belongs up there with them. Popularity is not an indicator of talent. Fredrik Thordendal, Devin Townsend, Ian Williams, Spencer Seim, DP Holmes, Chris Letchford, Daniel Johns, Mikael Akerfeldt, and on. He's definitely talented. I just think people get carried away with pedestals.

Haven't heard of all of those, but have heard a few and they are great as well. I named some that most would know as great guitar players. Quite a few really great ones, but they are still rare gems, including the ones you named. Referring to people that not only can have technique and form, which anyone can learn, but have feeling, phrasing, and creativity which you can't teach.
