I don't think it has ever been claimed or reported that they were love buddies for 3 years? My understanding was that it was over a 5 month period after the supposed car accident in April 2012.

The original news stories (which were not refuted at the time by ND/Te'o) stated that Te'o met Kekua in person at Stanford in 2009.

That's another lie he told Schapp. Now he said he became committed to her after her accident but he told Thamell they started dating Oct 2011.
