I just paid my renewal with terminix today for $225. I wonder how they come up with the cost if the other guy only pays $75.

I have heard that if you pour spent motor oil around the perimeter of your house it will keep them away for years, of course I would not do this as it is probably against the law for environmental concerns

Mine 3 yr renewal is around $225. My yearly inspection is $75

Not all companies use the same chemicals, do the same quality of work or give the same type of "guarantee". I use Terminix in Slidell. They use Termidor and guarantee ANY new termite damage, including the total cost of repair, no matter where the termite damage occurs in the house. I will gladly pay a premium for that peace of mind. Trust me, I've seen how other pest control companies operate. Very few will do anything other than re-treat if you home is turned to sawdust by termites.
