Signing Jefferson makes no sense in the context of the next 3 or 4 years, unless they are giving up on Davis as a frontcourt player or dealing Anderson.
Why throw a max contract at a player to strengthen what is already the strongest part of your team?
Lopez averages about 10 less minutes per game than Jefferson. Unless they are going to hour long games, finding 30+ mpg for Davis, Anderson, and Jefferson will be very difficult.
Plus this hot hand stuff here is getting a bit ridiculous. It's working now with young players but in no way is sustainable when you're talking about Davis (potential franchise player), Anderson (quasi All-Star) and Jefferson (quasi All-Star) plus Lopez/Smith over the next 3-4 years. Professional athletes have egos and they all want to play. What happens when Lopez, Smith, Jefferson, Anderson, and Davis are all having good nights? You play Smith/Lopez because they have the slightly more hot hand?
Hot hand at this point is fine and is working because Davis is a 19 year old rookie hitting the wall right now. That won't happen much going forward. Adding a max contract big creates unnecessary problems.
Again, the frontcourt is the best part of the team, why spend 1/4 of the cap on something that doesn't need much fixing?
Like I said, if he continues to play at the level we've seen to start the season and the last few games, he is a starter. Plenty of time to see if he can do that.

Same way Anderson plays with Lopez and Davis now. Whoever's hot will stay in. Not hard

Like I said, if you get another legit scoring option, we could live with him. It's not just the scoring. It's the nights when he can't shoot, dribble, catch a pass, etc. Very inconsistent.

Stopped reading. Jefferson just turned 28 and is a legit C while AD is not and may never be. As for Ryan, you need a 2nd unit.
