I can't believe normal sane people would actually think he is serious about writing a book because he made that comment on twitter.

Also Shep recently said he loves LSU and isn't disappointed because it ultimately gave him a shot at chasing his dream in the NFL.

Why would Shep encourage others to go pro.
He's a senior wanting a shot but the more jrs that come out the more he slides out of the draft.
Shep will get a free agent tryout but until he finds a position he will not stick in the NFL.

If we had guys that didn't want to be here, there is no way in hell this coaching staff would be putting together a top 5 recruiting class.

If what you suggest is true, it would have leaked out from the disgruntled players to the new recruits.

I played college basketball and there was ALWAYS those 1 or 2 guys that were disgruntled about whatever. They always talked about it. And it brought everyone down.

Listen, all I'm saying is this kinda seems like a fresh start.

no, no not what I'm saying. I'm saying Shep was popular amongst the team and if he was disgruntled, then others could possibly have been disgruntled.

Shep has finished his career at LSU. How can he be a cancer when he isn't on the team? While he was on team he wasn't a cancer.

I follow him on twitter you dips hit. I never said he hates LSU. But I think he, just like us, is probably not happy with how things have tuned out. Mostly with the offense.

A fresh start with hungry players isn't a bad thing. That's what I'm saying.

I realize Shepard was sort of a cult favorite around here (it's close between he and Keiland Williams for cult favorite of all-time) but he was a classic tweener. He was all everything in high school but really didn't have a place where he belonged in college.

As a receiver, he had terrible hands and was a bad route runner.
As a running back, he was too small to be durable.
As a quarterback, he couldn't throw.

The staff tried everything but there was never a good fit for him

Yea because I said he was actually going to write a book in the OP.

And of course he said that. What else is he going to say?

I would hate to think this could be true but I have thought this as a possibility before.

I know he is very frustrated by his twitter remarks. He had a huge HS career and national spotlight. Its obvious he regrets coming to LSU and that sucks. Looks at Randle and what he tweeted after 1/9.

I had a thread that I thought was accurate. Some of those leaving might have a bad attitude so...let them leave

We need players that actually want to be here

Before you know it, this will be a commonly held belief whether it is true or not. It will be a convenient excuse if we underperform next year.

That's kinda what I'm thinking. Anyone who actually believes Shep is content with how his time at LSU panned out, is delusional.

As a popular, and outspoken I might add, player, I think it's a fair assumption that he could possibly have let his frustrations out and it effected others.

Just my .02 that isn't worth a damn.

Looks like someone missed the entire point of the OP

Did you even read it?

Possibly, but I'm more worried that people will take the title as gospel, regardless of the intent.

You should go read jim rockford's thread that's on this page. Kinda shows how most offensive players feel.

I didn't read it until after I started this thread but it kinda proves my point. Not about RS specifically, but about how we have guys on offense lacking passion. Which who can blame them?

Hopefully with this fresh crop of guys we can get things going and have a little more positivity

I don't think he's content, I just don't think he was cancerous. he may not be the choirboy he wants to portray, but he comes off pretty positive toward the school and the team whether it's in interviews or Twitter.

I'm not sure a sulker/ cancer is out there busting his arse on special teams while also not getting consistent touches. I never really felt like Shep mailed it in though there were times where I might not have blamed him for doing it.

but who knows, maybe he pouted but TMac put him out there anyway....

I honestly couldn't blame him for being upset about the offense. I think we can all agree on that. After reading jim's thread it makes me think alot of the guys are just playing uninspired on the O.

This team needs to hit the reset button offensively. Scheme-wise and attitude-wise.
