I think you guys are missing the point. The reason the guys are leaving for the NFL are the same reasons that a ton of kids do it...fame and money and dreams...
BUT, the parts that make others stay, like B Jones @ Bama or Barkley @ USC or Murray @ Georgia, is that they know they will have the opprtunity to put up big #s and get better thru coaching. I mean they are CONFIDENT in the system and coaching.
Right now, LSU's players do not have that confidence, with damn good reason, to think that LSU will change anything to fix the 3rd yr of struggles.
Remember, although they are young men, these guys know more about what's going on than you will ever know about the issues.
SO everyone quit bashing people for saying why players leave. Whats going on is they aren't finding confident reasons to stay, which is spot on.

While I could agree on offense that is not the case on defense. Chavis is coaching up his side giving them the opportunity to make a living.

No, I'll bash people for saying with certainty that players are leaving because of coaching. You don't know shite. I can say that confidently.

If the players leaving early were all on offense, then you could make a case. The majority are on D where Chavis has been an awesome coach

Many people say that there is maybe some dissent on this team and that led to all the juniors leaving, but if was this case how are you attracting all these top recruits from all over the country. The kids talk to the players on the team when they visit and they would have that feeling something was up.

I don't get into this Coaching debate because we are all a little ignorant looking from the outside and it is always easier to coach from the stands but here is my summary of the situation. Our offensive troubles did not just start this year. This website has been talking about the offensive troubles for years so why didn't we have a big group of early departures last year or the year before? I believe this year was just the perfect storm of 1st or 2nd round draft picks, poor financial situations or lack of playing time with the running backs. The offensive troubles have very little to do with this years departures.

I conclude that the PRIMARY reason for this exodus is due to the current coaching staff (offensive) and putrid offensive scheme that has ranked in the mid 80's for the third year in a row.
And you sir are a certified idiot. Congrats.

to the OP,
so you start a thread and include a link where Mike Detillier, a man who deals with football players on a year round basis (including several LSU players), specifically states that players are leaving because they realize there is money to be made in the NFL now and they need to help their families and they're worried about injuring themselves,
yet you still say this shite:
what about detillier's words did you not understand?
are you just dense?

So, why did Tahj Boyd stay? Aaron Murray? The Tylers? Barrett Jones? None of these guys have ACL's? Boyd and Murray couldn't go out on a higher note than the last game they played.
Yeah, let's just pretend that players at other teams are all independently wealthy so the money they would get from the league isn't important to them or their families.

No, let's pretend that juniors who have all been playing since they were freshman are leaving for the draft (mostly defensive players) because they hate miles. Because that doesn't sound fricking retarded and makes anyone who believes this sound like they need to be checked for the dumbass.

Neither Boyd nor Murray are projected near the top of the draft
its different for QBs than it is for every other position in the NFL
there are only 32 starting QB positions in the NFL
and they dont rotate to give each other reliefs like other positions in the pros
if you're a QB and you're going to submit your name in the draft, you want to make sure you dont fall to the bottom rounds because if you do you may never see the playing field because you might be drafted by a team with a pro bowl QB just looking for a third string backup
if you're the third QB on a team, you're about to be cut
if you're the third LB, DE, DT, OT, WR, CB, S, RB on a team, you have a pretty good job

If that's the primary reason, I think the players would stop talking about how much they love the coaches.
Also, we only lost 3 guys on offense to early departures. 2 were RBs that weren't going to see PT over Hill, who emerged this year.
1 was a LT that likely made a bad decision, but the "schemes" wouldn't really affect him in a way that it may, say, a WR.

I just dont buy what the OP is stating.
LSU recruits players with the selling point that you can get to the NFL. It should be no surprise that kids come to LSU and leave for the same reason.

exactly
We're always saying "This player should come to LSU because look at how many players we put in the NFL"
then when they declare early "Miles has lost the team! why are these players declaring for the draft! This is clearly because they realize with our offense they wont be able to develop any further... even though all but 3 of them are from the defense.... RABBLE!"
