Hey mastrbate,
Think before you post. So many wrong statements in your message/post.
I don't post much unless I feel something is just way off base and I KNOW this is.
This might be my 5th post....so
Miles closing on Montgomery sucked btw. I can name Many last day closings too. BY MILES
I'm stopping. I'm now thinking its dumb of me to give my time to even respond to this
My two cents....best class since, I followed HARD on this stuff in 06 that I have seen.

Oh an. Mastrshake,
From ESPN...they must not know much either. Read this
“There is great talent in the program at LSU,” Davis said during a telephone interview to promote the Capital One Cup competition. “In addition to aspiring to win championships for their university and their teammates, (top players) aspire to achieve the highest personal goals.
“I don’t think it’s bad. Excellence begets excellence. I think it signifies that LSU is good at developing players and getting them ready for the NFL. There’s some great talent whose time to move on has come. It’s a good problem to have. The last thing you want is to have a bunch of seniors coming back who aren’t very good players.”

ill try to knock out a few of these at once
no argument here. Ive kinda moved on to other things.
but then you couldnt mock me, so I wont do that but i will come on here and say that i was 100 percent wrong and then you can call me a whiny fig because Id deserve it.
I do, yes. I remember we also lost Janzen that same day. I also remember Collins, Kiel, McKnight, and others.
it wasnt that great to begin with.
please do so.
that's the same media that put notre dame in the bcs cg, said te'o was the best player in the country and had USC as the pre-season number 1. espn calls matt millen a "college football expert". most people on this board know more about football than they do. espn literally has no idea what the f**k they're talking about ever.
i know. it sucks. I used to be the most optimistic LSU fan on earth, I can show you old posts where I "prove" Miles is better than saban and compare Jordan Jefferson to Andrew Luck for f**ks sake, but whatever Miles once had is gone. hes terrified now. I should be excited about this class, but other than the DL and LBs, there's no evidence whatsoever to think any of them will get the coaching they deserve and that we need to beat bama and win a title. we have an ex Bo Schembechler lineman for a HC, AND a full time OL coach, yet we havent put a single noteworthy OL into the league. La'el played LT for 4 years in high school, was the number 6 overall prospect, and we've had him at guard for 2 years, EVEN DURING A YEAR WHEN WE WERE SCRAMBLING TO FIND A LT! this is madness.
be honest, if your kid was a big time prospect on offense, not some freak 5 star who would go pro no matter what, but a 4 star WR or OL or QB, or even a DB at this point, ranked between 50 and 100 and dreams of the NFL, would you feel confident that he would improve under this staff? would that be best for him? It's ridiculous how much I love LSU, but I would have serious serious doubts.

but a 4 star WR
Possibly. Certainly, I'd want to talk about plans / schemes. LSU threw the ball more this past season with lesser quality WRs. Lots of drops, etc. I'd not look at the JJ and JL years and decide that was the full story

or OL
Certainly! I'd have no problem there

or QB
Again, see above. I think there is reason to believe LSU will be quite good at qb going forward

Without question. I know Cooper is gone. I also know C Raymond is an excellent coach
LSU is fine. Too many are jumping off a ledge way to soon

i appreciate your response, and I hope youre right about Raymond. hes only had a year but I hold Cooper in such high regard that its gonna very very hard for anyone to follow him. to me, losing him was still the worst part of a historically awful off-season.

Kadron Boone
JC Copeland

KeKe Mingo

Chad Jones
Terrance Toliver
Charles Deas
Francois
the list goes on and on
Recruiting isn't this staffs problem. I wont argue with you about our offensive guys not getting the coaching they deserve though.
eta: RJF and Keiland Williams were post NSD pulls by Miles

and I hope youre right about Raymond.
I know him personally. Not a friend, so this is not "buddy bias". I know he is really good and well versed / respected.
Look at what he was dealt: TM7 kicked off late, Reid having to shoulder a MUCH different / increased role because of Taylor being gone and TM7, FROSH CBs ( we all understand that experience helps), and Simon was...let's just say "distracted" a bit.
Coach CR can do the job
BTW: Thanks for providing quite a bit of good entertainment at your site over the years

im not sure how late those were (someone said Patrick Petrerson earlier but if I remember right he declared during the all star games in January, 5 weeks before NSD, not really what I meant by "closing late") but, ok, fair enough. i fully concede that Im pessimistic as hell about the immediate future and it might be clouding everything.
dont get me wrong people, I love LSU and I used to really like Miles, but all the frustrating sh*t he would do that I hoped would go away haven't, and in some cases have gotten worse, and I feel like were on a precipice right now. our problems are easily identifiable and can be fixed, but if we blindly plow ahead as if nothing is wrong than we're f*cked. we'll be UGA, stuck on "pretty good" for 10 years and nothing to show for it.
f*ck that. we're LSU. we need to start acting like it again.

who else?
also, look at the guys you listed....kiel and janzen have turned out to be head cases (i know its still early for kiel but his latest interviews show flashes of being unstable) and janzen, well, we all know the story there. he would have fricked us anyway. so MAYBE it has more to do with the players state of mind, than miles and the staff that caused them to go elsewhere

the ones I listed were all within a day or 2 of NSD.
I agree about the coaching though. People that blame Mett simply dont understand a good coach can turn a mediocre player into a good one.
Look at the strides our defense made in year 1 under Chavis and compare it to how terrible we were under Peveto and Mallory. Coaching makes a huge difference and if we had a competent scheme, playcalling, development on offense every single player on our offense would get better.

While I agree with this, I see no real issue (from MY own point of view)

Let's be fair:
1 season ago, LSU went 13-0 against a historically brutal schedule
This season, LSU lost to UF after its 2 best LBs left the game and lost in the closing seconds against Bama. I know some decisions were head-scratchers...but, that is still pretty damned good (considering all of the adversity that LSU faced)
Geaux Tigers!!!

It's recruiting. It's impossible to win them all. Every program has examples of losing high rated talent out of their own backyard.
The one thing this staff can't be faulted for is recruiting. Every guy that left LA didn't leave because of our lack of recruiting them.

You love LSU, yet you come to an LSU recruiting forum and make blanket statements about the lack of player development? Not only that, but you then make a comment directed to future players, on the chance that they read this, that they made a bad decision?

This OL and DL class is huge, with lots of potential. Boutte, Pocic, Dodd, Malone, and Fanaika
the engine that powers the bus.

Then on DL we have Gilmore, Bain, Lacouture, Lawson, Herron, Neal, Patterson, and potentially a few more.
the cops that pull the other bus and geaux all Rodney King on them.

Sprinkle on 2 really good QB prospects
Jennings could be our version of RG3 and Rettig looks like a Stanford type qb with an effortless release. I really like the potential this class has and if things work out I don't see offense being an issue in the future. let it begin.

If you can't get up for this class, you probably need a break from LSU football for awhile. You sound burnt out.
