Switched to FSU tonight. Even though they demolished Notre Dame.

This helps us towards getting Kain Daub back as commit. He already likes LSU. Walker going to Bama had him interested. This does increase FSU's chances. But it looks like Daub is probably going out of state.

Smart timing. Gumps won't care as much. Too busy tea bagging Catholics tonight.

Orlando Sentinel "Walker to FSU

quote:

Geis told Jacksonville's Florida Times Union on Monday night that Walker will enroll at Florida State on Tuesday, following newly hired Jeremy Pruitt from Alabama to Tallahassee, where Pruitt will be FSU's new defensive coordinator. Geis told the TU, "[Walker] really got kind of nervous about going that far away from home. I think DeMarcus, in the end, felt more comfortable with Jeremy."

Not disagreeing but everything I've heard, mostly here tbh, is that Daub wants out of state. Much more so than playing with Walker. Are you disputing that or just being a smartass?

I am disputing that Walker flipping somewhere else really helps us with Daub. Daub didn't even care about Alabama until he switched to his new high school and Walker pushed him to Bama. Now Walker is going to FSU, where do you think Walker will push him to? Daub's mind looks very easily swayed. People thought Daub would commit to Bama anytime in the last couple months just because of Walker...he probably wanted to but was waiting to see where Walker was going to finally end up. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Daub takes up "interest" in FSU soon, as long as Walker sticks for the next month.

Daub just doesnt seem near as interested in us as he did a long while back. When he first decommited he said he just made a rash decision, then later on he claims he decommited because "we stopped contacting him". Really now...our coaches stopped contacting a Top 5 overall recruit in in the country for 2014? Or is he just saying some cop out things because his interest is elsewhere now?

It's all a bit translucent, but also able to pick up some context clues on him.

Daubs comments about LSU not contacting him enough threw me off

I seriously doubt that, but who am I to call him a liar. Hopefully his family can clear that up. I know his mom posts on 247 and probably reads this board

That makes perfect sense. I honestly think Daub is one of those guys you can't trust til signing day for all the reason you said.

How big of coup is this for FSU? Seems like many thought he was heading to UF.

Thanks for not taking that the wrong way, you're obviously a smart a level headed guy..

It's not like he committed to Bama. He's already been there for a visit as well. Walker swayed him a little bit, but ultimately it's Daub's decision. None of his top schools are even in Florida. He's been more interested in leaving the state more than anything. If Walkers opinion mattered that much he would have shown more interest in Bama

He was all but committed there. Everyone was expecting it for months. Walker seriously swayed him away from us and pushed his interest entirely there. He never committed because Walker didn't seem so firm (And obviously so now).

Dont expect that to last. He's got a year and a month to think everything over and that's his home state and his new buddy who pushed him to the school he WAS committed to is now going to a school in Florida.

Daub was ALL about Bama. Especially after he went up there, once again, just probably between them knew Walker wasn't entirely sure he'd end up there or not, so no reason to commit when he has a year and half once again to figure things out.

Dont be shocked if Daub has a couple more favorites before finally settling somewhere. He's the kind of recruit that gets "Blown away" every time he visits somewhere and finds his new shiny object. Not saying it's a bad thing, but it's been apparent so far that seems to be the case.

No he wasn't. We heard the same things with Gilmore, Nkemdiche, Beckwith and almost every other recruits visit there. It's usually bull.

Daub was All LSU from his visit here. Absolutely loved it, which is why he committed.

Thanks for the post. Glad to see it's not Alabama, but would have preferred Gators over FSU. The Caleb Brantley de and re-commitment to Florida last week made it seem that Walker would end up elsewhere. All makes sense now.
Hope it all works out with Daub for LSU.

Further proof that winning or losing one game does nothing for recruiting.
