Because media has an entire poll devoted to them in NCAA. When the end season comes, they're going to look back on the SEC who lost every bowl game the season before and say this supposedly vigorous SEC schedule they played this year isn't so special. Media controls a piece of the pie.

I'm not sure how that's hard to understand and why college football fans cheer for their conference. It's a shite way to do things but it's the system they have.

So media whips out the previous year's Bowl Schedule Results and formulates their rankings on that at the end of the next season? That's fricking insane, we should alert congress.
