I don't think its Miles philosophy to keep games close.
Its just that LSU doesn't have a coach on staff that can prepare an offense to perform at a level that creates seperation (point wise and field position wise).
LSU has had the benefit of great defenses with a good head coach resulting in great defensive recruits. That has not happened on the offensive side. Point out the last out of state Offensive player that was a difference maker---ware is the only one that i can think of. And while Ware was good he was not spectacular.
